Security
iGradePlus takes the security of our users' data very seriously implementing various measures to ensure that your data is kept safe. However, no data transmission over the Internet is guaranteed completely secure. Given the inherent operation and structure of the Internet, all transmissions are done at your own risk.
All data transferred between your web browser and our server is encrypted using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
All user accounts are password-protected using a password created by the account owner to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts. Users are encouraged to never divulge their password to anyone. iGradePlus will never ask a user for their password via an email or phone call.
All users are automatically logged out of there accounts after a defined amount of inactivity.
iGradePlus offers an optional, enhanced security feature for users that require the use of a valid email address. iGradePlus highly recommends that users take advantage of this enhanced security feature. To prevent a user's account from being hacked by someone who may attempt to guess the password to the account, the user's account will be suspended after defined number of failed login attempts. Suspended accounts can no longer be accessed even using the correct username and password. Suspended accounts can only be unsuspended by providing the email address previously set by the user for this purpose. To unlock the suspended account, a special key is sent to the user via email using this email address.
iGradePlus User Personal Information
iGradePlus does not share your personal information with any third parties. Any personal information collected by iGradePlus from you is used for the sole purpose of enhancing your account security, enhancing your user experience, or by our customer support staff to contact you to provide assistance or to keep you informed about the various aspects of our service.
Staff Personal Information
Some versions of iGradePlus allow users to enter and store personal information for school staff members including teachers and administrators. This information may include the person's name, email address, phone numbers, and mailing address. This information is not shared with any third parties or used by iGradePlus in anyway except to provide the iGradePlus user with a means to enter, store, view, and manage this information. The collection, management, and disclosure of this information is controlled solely by the iGradePlus user and not by iGradePlus. iGradePlus assumes no responsibility to enter, collect, or review any such data.
Student Personal Information
All versions of iGradePlus allow users to enter and store personal information for students and their guardians. This information is not shared with any third parties or used by iGradePlus in anyway except to provide the iGradePlus user with a means to enter, store, view, and manage this information. The collection, management, and disclosure of this information is controlled solely by the iGradePlus user and not by iGradePlus. iGradePlus assumes no responsibility to enter, collect, or review any such data. All personal student information is encrypted using the latest encryption technologies before being stored in our database.
iGradePlus will not knowingly and directly ask any student for any personally identifiable information, nor will it require any such information for a student to use or access iGradePlus. We are aware of the policies that protect children, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and the rules adopted by the Federal Trade Commission thereunder.
FERPA Compliance
The Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of students' education records.
iGradePlus is aware that customers using our service will collect and store student information that is considered confidential under FERPA.
iGradePlus maintains reasonable administrative, physical and technical standards to ensure that no unauthorized persons are able to gain access to any student information that may be considered confidential under FERPA.
School officials may share student educational records with iGradePlus without parent/student consent, if the following conditions are met as defined by 34 CFR Part 99 Subpart D:
- iGradePlus performs a service or function for which the school would otherwise use its own employees
- The data collected and stored by iGradePlus is under the direct control of the agency or institution
- The data collected and stored by iGradePlus is used for authorized purposes only and iGradePlus does not re-disclose personally identifiable information from the education record to other parties unless with consent of the school or permitted by FERPA
iGradePlus meets the conditions stated above.
Non-personal Information
As is true of most websites, iGradePlus automatically collects information about your computer such as your IP address, browser type, operating system type, referring websites, your landing and exit pages, and the length of time that you spend on iGradePlus. We can only access aggregate information; we are unable to determine any personally identifiable information about any particular user.
Cookies are also used to collect general usage and volume statistical information that does not include personal information. Google may place cookies on your computer to collect non-personally identifiable information to compile aggregated statistics for us about the visitors to our site and they may also use local storage on your browser as newer browsers may permit.
